DesertBull Report post Posted July 23, 2014 I'm looking for a book to learn how to glass for coues deer. I believe he was from Winkleman AZ Any help appreciated. Thanks The book is good for pointers but you have to get out there and do it as often as possible. It takes practice and patience. It's more important to know where to look for deer than HOW to look for them, IMO.
Chef Report post Posted July 23, 2014 Contact Duwane as he offers glassing lessons as well. He is a super nice person that is very willing to help you become a better glasser and hunter. He will not only go over glassing techniques, but give you advice on where to glass and when. I cannot say enough great things about Duwane Adams. http://www.azbiggamehunting.com

rcdinaz Report post Posted July 23, 2014 After byuing the book and talking to Duane the next thing you can do is volunteer to help out on a sheep hunt. Your butt will go numb but you will get in a lot of time behind glass and there is nothing like it. Obviously you can practice on deer but not many people take a crew with them on a deer hunt. One of the best parts of a sheep hunt is glassing and learning, it is much more laid back in some ways. Go to the sheep society meeting and you can meet some guys that have hundreds maybe thousands of hours behind binos most of them are pretty helpful.
