Yes, 100%DIYAzCoues...

A few of the many deer I have taken with a recurve...

Coues from the Santa Ritas...

Coues to the left, their bigger NY cousins to the right...

30yards max. at game, I try to set-up for 15-20yards shots from tree stands or ground brush blinds...

The second Coues from the left was shot at 4paces from the base of a 12ft tall tree-stand, really alittle to close hehehe...

I shoot instinctive, with bare fingers... I was going to put a single fixed pin sight on my recurve this year to push my comfortable range out to 30-40yards, but I hurt my finger and didnt do it, I like to work any changes for at least a year ahead of time before hunting with a changed set-up.

Photo is at friends pole-barn where we hang, cut deer, and maybe drink a few beers... The "scrub-buck wall"...

(Personal Deer count with the recurve is 75-100 (12-15 Coues) , over 200 with the Rifle, Ny has very liberal OTC tags, and we can get around 200 free tags per year as land owners to be used at all year long (we dont do this as we get 4tags(1bow,1rifle, 2doe any weapon) per hunter now)...

Pretty cool, its tough to get that close,I've shot a few deer inside of 30 yards and its way more intense and rewarding to me.that wall on your buddies barn is crazy, that doesn't happen here! Looks like the land of the forkies over there! Thanks for sharing

Being close is what Bow hunting is all about, to me anyway, the closet I have shot a Buck was about 3feet from the end of my arrow on a rainy, windy day, while kneeling in cold water, still-hunting along a swamp edge (the Buck to the far right in the photos above)... All those acres, and we met in a swamp, 30seconds either way and I would never had had a chance...

I would much rather hunt with a Bow then rifle, but I do enjoy both...

Yeah, for many years we were shooting the smaller scrub bucks to weed them out, and nailing the antlers to boards we hung on the barn over the doorway, there are prob 150 antler sets on this wall, it has began to pay off for the last 10years or so with some really nice bucks being taken off the property...

Buck from 2years ago, I spent 2weeks trying to get a Bow shot at him, first day of rifle season he bedded down 300yds away in thick grass, when he finally stood-up and gave me a shot, I made the best of it...

These antlers did NOT get nailed to the barn wall hehehe...

I have had a standing offer to all CWT.com members to come and bow hunt my NY property since I joined, visit, hunt and become your own "idol",

kinda cool to see 5-10(or more) bucks a day from one stand and even shoot a doe if you want to fill your freezer...

I am hunting NY the last week of bow and the first week of rifle seasons this year...(middle to end of november)...

Thats a very generous offer oneshot! Very cool of you.

If there any of you folks out there that have never hunted eastern whitetails you should really considered taking oneshot up on his offer. Nothing more fun and exciting then seeing deer from a stand all day and specially during the rut. I hunt Michigan and if I didnt have my brothers place to hunt I would probably take oneshot up on this.
