Low profile, clearance is awesome, they are really stiff, they bond well to arrow shafts, and they stabilize arrows extremely fast without having lots of drag and win drift like high profile 2" vanes like blazers. 1 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

coatimundi01 Report post Posted July 17, 2014 I haven't shot out as far as you guys but I've been using the Vanetec Swift series vanes in both 2.88" and 2.25 in. I started off with rt helical 2.88s 3-fletched and they flew good. I then switched to 125gr heads and wanted to lighten the tail to help the FOC and tried the 2.25s 4-fletched which is lighter that the 3 bigger vanes. I was having trouble with rest contact with my QAD with 4, so right now I have the 2.25s 3-fletched. Nice low profile, really quiet, no contact. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Maverick351 Report post Posted July 18, 2014 I been using expandable broadheads. Ulmer Edge, the only expandables I'll shoot. I'm using Easton Axis arrows and with this set up a fixed blade would steer too much at long distance. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
nlacost Report post Posted July 18, 2014 Blazers after trying everything else,I have come full circle....Fobs,AAE,Fusions,....doesn't matter,didnt get any better flight, so I stuck with the most readily available...but to get to those extreme distances(150+),I run a hard helical and they stabilize gravediggers just fine.. muledeerman Report post Posted July 18, 2014 Norway Fusion 3 inch work the best for me and i have used most out there, the best thing to do is try a few different brands with your broadheads on and shoot them on a windy day ''side by side'' and see what shoots the best with your setup. How do you get blazers to stick with a helical? I have them on about a 4 degree offset and have the two corners lifting just a pinch...... with the bend on a helical I dont think there is any way I could get them to stick..... what is gour process if you dont mind sharing. ..... nlacost Report post Posted July 18, 2014 Cover the screen from little ones.........Take and sand the shaft lightly on a 45 degree angle with rough grit..clean with rubbing alcohol..take a good updated bottle(nothing from last year) of glue,find a pen tip like the kind on those clicky pens and thread that onto your glue bottle..it makes a tiny but perfect bead of glue onto the vane...drop 3 vanes in the Arizona EZ mini fletcher and bead away and clamp for 1 minute...the glue will not come out the sides if you have the right amount...tip the leading edge and back end of vane with glue so it doesn't peel off when going through target...I use this setup on my Victory VAP's as well as thousands of customers arrows each year...haven't had any issues...hope that helps...--- Nate 1 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
