mountaingoat08 Report post Posted July 15, 2014 So I heard that the game and fish department is calling people that had declines on their cards for the draw. Then they are writing down information and still giving them tags?! Anyone else hear this? When I had a problem with my card for an elk tag couple years back they said tough luck. BowNut Report post Posted July 15, 2014 Im pretty sure it's in the regs now they will try to contact you now. Think it changed recently.
corps013 Report post Posted July 15, 2014 That happened to me on Monday. I gave them a different credit card and they processed it Monday night. Oddly enough, the (declined) card worked for my daughter's javie tag and at dinner that night.
standman Report post Posted July 15, 2014 From the regs Once the draw takes place, and IF you are successfully drawn, the Department will charge the credit or debit card you have on fle for the permit fee. If payment fails, the Department will make three attempts within two business days to contact you and notify you that your payment has been declined. You will then be afforded a means of providing alter- native payment within a specifed timeframe. If the Department has not received an alternate payment at the end of that specifed timeframe, applicants will be rejected. No exceptions will be made for individuals who do not respond to the Departments attempts to contact them. Deadline for updating credit or debit card information online is 11:59 p.m. (MST) Sunday, July 6, 2014
coatimundi01 Report post Posted July 16, 2014 That means they're almost done! There's still a bit of hope for those not drawn cause of they can't reach somebody on their decline list after 3 attempts, the tag will go to someone else. That means the results will hopefully be out by the end of the week!
Az Hunter Report post Posted July 18, 2014 This could all be so much easier if they charged us in full when we apply like before, online and paper apps, and refund us when we're not drawn.
trphyhntr Report post Posted July 18, 2014 I say go back to straight paper apps.
muledeerman Report post Posted July 18, 2014 Does the 3 strikes your out call work for the paper apps also? or is it for the online apps only. It seems the draw and card hits went super fast but the calling of all the declined cards is what is taking some time.
wish2hunt Report post Posted July 18, 2014 I vote for paper apps.
Presmyk Report post Posted July 18, 2014 If they went I papper apps they would loose a chunk of $$$ I bet exspecialy with the app fee almost doubled. Would benefit Some (draw odds) and probably hurt more (procrastinators or lack of cash) I like the idea of papper apps
MULEPACKHUNTER Report post Posted July 18, 2014 The paper apps is why we don't have results right now, No more killing trees, lets burn coal and do it all electronic!!!!
wish2hunt Report post Posted July 18, 2014 If we had paper apps they wouldnt be calling and getting new cc info that was declined.
43F Report post Posted July 18, 2014 This could all be so much easier if they charged us in full when we apply like before, online and paper apps, and refund us when we're not drawn. I'm fairly sure that if they did this it would cost them a few thousand dollars: 1) In the processing of cards it normally costs a few cents per transaction when a CC is run. I fairly sure that it even costs "per swipe of a card" no matter whether the CC is approved or decline. Over the course of a year and various big game draws I'm sure that would cost the department thousands of dollars in unnecessary transactions. 2) I'm not positive of this, but I think the same would be true in refunding the CC as a whole new transaction is taking place. Az Hunter Report post Posted July 18, 2014 Good points. I guess saving a few thousand trumps saving the mental pain and misery of thousands of waiting draw applicants.
