Well I decided to run over to the lower salt river today in a few hours. Does anyone recommend any tips or baits to use? Thanks

Take a can of tuna or cat food. Poke a few holes in it, wade out and place it in some current at the head of a hole. Cast your bait in the chum slick. Just remember to grab the can before you leave.

Not trying to cause a problem but I thought chumming was illegal in AZ. I may just be thinking about trout and they would probably have a really tough time proving it especially since if they cut the fish open there wouldn't be any evidence since the cat food would just give a scent and nothing for him to eat they could find in his stomach.

I may be completely off in my thinking because I've actually never read the rule. It's just something I've always heard.

Where exactly would one fish for Cats on the Lower Salt?

I've caught trout and bass in the winter months at PhonD and Blue Point. Maybe lower towards the Dam?
