AZHUNTER05 Report post Posted July 9, 2014 Hey guys, a few years back I posted a thread asking about a good light weight tripod. Someone suggested a slik tripod that cost around $100 ( I can't seem to find it again). I got impatient and bought a heavier tripod and I've been kicking myself ever since! Any suggestions on a good tripod in the $100-$150 range? I have a outdoorsman pistol grip head I will be using on it. Thx for the help!

GreyGhost85 Report post Posted July 9, 2014 i use a vortex summit SS. it is lighter than most carbon fiber tripods and packs down to a TINY size. i use it with my 15's and have not had any complaints whatsoever. it is also plenty sturdy. i use a manfrotto 700rc2 head with mine. the whole setup costs around $200 and weighs under 3lbs. could not be happier. many of my hunting buddies have switched from much more expensive setups to these

DesertBull Report post Posted August 1, 2014 I have found that I like heavier tripods. Not fun to carry but worth it when you are actually glassing.
