Liosis Report post Posted July 9, 2014 Came across some salt/mineral licks while hiking today. They were set up on game trails and were clearly placed there to attract Elk and/or Deer...looks like they were getting a good amount of use. So I know that baiting big game in AZ has been illegal for the last year or so, but is placing salt/mineral licks considered baiting or is it perfectly legal? CouesWhitetail Report post Posted July 9, 2014 yes salt is legal....but you can always call AGFD with questions like this so that they can give you the exact regulation that covers it.

PRDATR Report post Posted July 14, 2014 Good to know...I need to give the regs a good read before hunting season starts for me. Thanks It's good practice to re-read them every year. About as much fun as watching paint dry but things do change periodically.
