cosninocanines Report post Posted July 9, 2014 Tons of hail and rain in East Flag this afternoon, here's a link to some pictures on Flag Scanner. http://flagscanner.com/stunning-storm-aftermath-photos-from-flagscanner-viewers/ Hail washed down onto Route 66 and ADot had to bring in loaders to clear the roadway of 2 feet deep hail. cosninocanines Report post Posted July 9, 2014 8:30 PM update from AZ Daily Sun The heavy rains have ended in east Flagstaff, but not before flooding some homes below Mount Elden and roads as far away as Soliere Avenue. The National Weather Service reported that 2 inches of rain and quater-inch hail fell in east Flagstaff shortly after 4 p.m. Emergency responders reported flooding on Fanning Drive as far south as East Route 66 and along Elder Drive. City firefighters reported to dispatchers that at least 22 structures suffered some degree of flooding and at least three families consisting of 11 people would be displaced for at least the night because of flooding. In addition, the Weather Service issued a flood advisory for the Doney Park and Timberline area, where heavy rain had fallen. West Flagstaff has remained dry.
