Dan H Report post Posted July 5, 2014 Well last weekend we canned our annual Sweet Corn 30 Qt bags, and as always our 4th of July tradition we went out and picked the Black Berries again first thing this morning. Made for a good morning with cloud cover and some rain hit the area last night. Ange's canning the Jelly and were ready to start on some Black Berry Margaritas with some Coralejo 99000 Horas Anejo. Ran into this guy at one patch this morning almost stepped on him. Next up will be the Tomato's, (Italian Sauce) canning party if Murdock Farms gets a good crop this year. Fingers crossed. No bears been in the berries yet but we did see a group of around 10 muleys (only 1 small buck) on the way out. Good Eats!

Guest oneshot Report post Posted July 5, 2014 Oh Yeah!!! Nice haul on the berries... alittle tip for the best sweet corn, if you boil the corn for corn on the cob... use half milk half water with alittle sugar added to themilk/ water mixture, it will be the most tender and sweet that way, add butter and salt right before eating... salt kernels makes corn tougher, so it's good to have in the water if you blanch the ears before canning...
