second shot

critters, sheds and a dead head

Recommended Posts

I haven't been out in a while so I took advantage of the cooler weather for a morning hike. Saw and found some good stuff.

My absolute least favorite desert reptile. Almost stepped on him. This is the third tiger rattler I've seen in the area and all three have come after me.

Looks like a great day, I read that Tiger snakes tend to come out after it rains.

What an awesome Tiger rattle snake! How big was he? That has to be one of my top 5 favorite snakes.

id rather see the gila monster and the tiger snake than find sheds, unless they are like 120" coues. I love that tiger, what terrian do they tend to live in? It just shot to the top of my list of want-to-sees, besides a gila. i havent found a gila.....and i have been hiking alot in an area my dad sees them a lot.

I was hiking around 5000 feet in a pretty steep area with Mesquite, Oak, and some open grassy areas. Half the sheds were under Mesquite and the others under Oak trees. The dead head was in a steep drainage.

I've never seen a Tiger Rattler in the wild, at 2' it would just make a hat band. I love to find snakes as long as I get to see (or hear) them first.

Wow, that's really cool - I love the sheds, the rattler, especially the gila monster. Thanks for sharing
