Elkhunter1 Report post Posted June 30, 2014 Late last night I fletched a dozen arrows with AAE Max Hunters and today every dang one of them pulled right off, WTF!!!!!!!!!!!! The only thing I can think of of is the glue I used this time was the cheap Bohning glue (that mistake will NEVER happen again) back to AAE's Fastset gel! Bohning SUCKS!!!!!!!! Guest akaspecials Report post Posted June 30, 2014 I've been using Pine Ridge without issue. IMO the biggest thing with any fletching is surface prep. I always use acetone and clean the heck out of the shaft. I maybe obsessive, but when dealing with adhesives (either at work or at home) I always wear gloves to keep everything 100% clean too. 1denogean Report post Posted June 30, 2014 the bohning glue works great, glue never works the best forever i have tried all of them all goat tuff, loc-tite ultra gel, gorilla, gold tip, aae fastset they all get bad over time and some have bad batches, i have got some bad loc tite, and they replaced it free of charge, and the goat tuff bad also. my favorites are the bohning platinum, gold tip, and loc tite in no particular order biggest thing is clean with acetone and let them dry befor you start Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Clean your arrow shafts with a rough sponge and comet bleach (for dish cleaning) before fletching. Maverick351 Report post Posted July 1, 2014 well the problem is the glue used is not designed for those vanes those vanes have a special glue that you need to use with them because of the activator on the bottom if you don't use that glue they will not set properly. pretty much use you what it states on the package of the vane vanes company has its own glue designed specially to go with that vane for that reason Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
