AGFD news What would you think of a new online club for hunters?

how about, if it aint broke don't fix it.

I have no problem with that personally, but the vibe I'm getting is most would like a surrender program, so I'm working within that agenda.

"Most would like a surrender program". Is there a poll, survey, or facts to back that up?

I haven't talked to a single friend or hunting buddy who supports the tag surrender... I too want to know who pushing this and where did they get their numbers that say a majority support this?

Hey guys this is good feed back but voicing your feedback here won't help shape the program. It was pretty clear to me last night that the department is not emotionally attached to tag surrender, they are simply reacting to feedback they have received. So if you don't like the idea, show up to a meeting and say so. Or send Scott Lavin from the dept an email and let him know your opinion on the topic. There is really 0 benefit to the department for this process unless hunters want it.

From being at the meeting it definitely appears that the consensus is in favor of tag surrender. So if you don't like the idea, you need to speak up to the right people.

do you know if they're gonna take the show on the road? I mean for the rest of the state that doesn't live in the big city? Lots of small town guys would love to attend meetings but driving to Phoenix is not an option. That's what bugs me about alot of the decisions, I know sometimes they travel but will they with this one?

Zero benefit? Where do the fees for this club go to? If there was 0 benefit they would do it for all sportsmen at no cost....

survey and facts to backup up my vibe? dude, you need to read the black part of my post, disregard the blank parts, and don't project anything into it... funny stuff.

I said there was 0 benefit to the department if sportsmen don't want it. If they offer the service, install the infrastructure and no one subscribes or joins, it hasn't benefitted them or us at all. The whole point of the idea is to find additional benefit to sportsmen that they would value enough to pay for. Pretty simple if you don't want the service, don't pay for it.

That's exactly right... There are a few people with vibes and chills up there leg for this tag surrender, but has G&F has not done their due diligence and surveyed all hunters or done any polls to verify support from the hunters.

I imagine who's pushing this are those complaining to the dept that those being deployed or suddenly hurt or whatever should be able to return a tag and keep their points.

Even in these threads the concern is more about having the surrender as a club benefit.

Honestly, I was prepared to go into the meeting against the tag surrender completely, but after having guys call me upset about the club and tag involvement, reading on these websites. There just isn't a buzz about surrender by itself like we saw with 2072 and the premium tags... well until the last two pages of this thread.

Use the process, drum up support and it may dissolve.

Lance I'll put you and your friends down as disinters in my vibe poll... well except Casey...

Good question. You should ask them.

Do you have facts and polls to show how few these people are?

Kent, I don't know that I'm 100% against tag transfer. I would support it with a doctors note, or military orders. Anything else wouldn't qualify. And I definatley wouldnt charge our service men and women and the sick a fee to turn in their tag.

The whole club thing bothers me. They can't deliver a good product as it is now, why should we pay them extra to deliver a new and improved product. I think they would be better off to say if you are a member of an existing wildlife org that gets you into this new club for free. This will promote membership in existing clubs who will put the money to good use instead of waste it like the department.

I sent a letter asking this and other questions to all of the commissioners 2 days ago and have yet to hear back from any of them. I will let you know what I find out if they respond.
