According to a press release from Candy Lupe with the Bureau of Indian Affairs Fire Division, the cause of the DeHose Fire is currently under investigation. Four Type 6 engines, a helicopter, air attack and three heavy tankers have been assigned to it, along with numerous firefighters. A radio tower within the burn area of the Rodeo-Chediski Fire is threatened, according to Lupe. There was no containment on it as of June 17. "Fire Crews are working on hand lines and securing the flanks of the fire. Weather is a main concern as red flag conditions are in effect for the Fort Apache Indian Reservation with high winds and low relative humidity forecasted until 9 p.m. today," Lupe said in a press release.
