rclouse79 Report post Posted June 12, 2014 I discovered my outboard is leaking fluid. Any recommendations for a good mechanic in the Tucson area? Thanks.

rclouse79 Report post Posted June 12, 2014 I am scratching my head here. I recently had to replace my old gas tank due to a hole in the bottom. The new attwood tank does not have a vent on the cap like my old tank did. I thought this was strange, but read somewhere on the packaging that it was not needed. There was some gas in the tank at the end of our last fishing trip. I discovered there is no more gas left in the tank, and there is what appears to be gas oil mix all over the back of my boat. My theory is when I drove from Tucson to the White Mountains the air pressure decreased causing the air inside the tank to expand and push the gas up and out somewhere in the motor, but that is purely a guess from a non mechanic. Has anybody ever heard of something like this?
