rut Report post Posted January 14, 2007 Anyone done business with Doug at Cameraland? I am looking at purchasing a Nikon D200 SLR camera and they are $100 cheaper than B&H, just wondered if customer service with Cameraland is as good at B&H????? Thanks in advance, Jim Parker
Red Rabbit Report post Posted January 14, 2007 Jim, I have purchased some binos and a tripod through Doug at Camera Land. He is well thought of on other forums, like 24HourCampfire and MonsterMuleys. Can't go wrong IMO. Service has been prompt and he will take the time to talk with you about your needs. Doug~RR
CouesWhitetail Report post Posted January 14, 2007 Cameraland is a sponsor of CouesWhitetail.com and I have only heard great things about his service. Here is a link to another thread where some people posted comments about buying stuff from him. http://forums.coueswhitetail.com/forums/in...?showtopic=4539 I really think you would be very well off buying from Doug. davecinaz Report post Posted January 15, 2007 I bought a pair of binos and a spotting scope from Doug a few months ago - I spent a lot of time with him on the phone trying to figure out what was best for my needs, and once we made the decision, everything was handled by him very professionally and timely. I would absolutely do more business with him and i can recommend him without reservation. Dave
Kevin Report post Posted January 15, 2007 I contacted Doug a couple of months ago about buying a new camera. Mine had died on me and was 1 month out of warranty. After discussing cameras a bit, I told Doug how dissapointed I was with the one that had quit and wanted something more reliable. I had contacted the manufacturer about the problem and they wanted $175 just to look at it--without any gaurantee that they could fix it. Doug suggested I send him the camera and they would look it over. Cameraland wasn't able to fix the camera, the main board was bad. However they sent it to the manufacturer and had it fixed, and get this-- they were able to get it warranteed! My camera is fixed at no charge to me! Talk about service, I didn't buy the camera from Cameraland and they treated me like I had been a constant lifelong customer! Anything I need in the optic or camera world in the future will be bought from Cameraland! Kevin
