couesmagnet Report post Posted June 10, 2014 Coueszilla makes big sweets look small in my opinion. Coueszilla is bigger broken up than big sweets is unbroken. Coueszilla unbroken is at least 20 inches bigger. Both are awesome bucks an would be a dream to take.

willhunt4coues Report post Posted June 10, 2014 Me and AZP&Y have been chasing this deer for years together. Granted we have not seen him since 2010 but we have seen some of his kin in the area. The genes are there just waiting for the perfect one. There are 2 that we know of that will gross 110+ in the area but they are very elusive. My and AZP&Y will be after them again this year with high hopes.
willhunt4coues Report post Posted June 10, 2014 I have heard of sweets single side antlers being found and measuring 69" back in 2009 that's only one side without of course a spread, Everyone has estimated sweets to be at 140" or bigger.

couesmagnet Report post Posted June 10, 2014 Any pics of big sweets in 2009 around cause that would be honor to see indeed. With one side going 69 inches that would put him at 138 without a spread and around 152 with a 14 inch spread. Big sweets is def a super giant but in the hard horned pics from 2010 he looks like a 125 class buck to me. He looks a lot bigger in the velvet as they usually do but compare hard horned pics of sweets to hard horned pics of Coueszilla. Again big sweets is a dream buck no matter what he scores and both bucks are spectacular specimens that give us all a reason to keep hunting. Thanks for postin the pics of your awesome buck dude.
gotcoues Report post Posted June 10, 2014 I'm a sucker for white trash, but Sweets is a close second! I'm sure you guys have had plenty of cams out and have studied the pics closely, but is there any chance 2009 was his best year? 2010 puts him quite a bit smaller and 2011 you didn't recognize him as a regressed buck? I was watching a giant that just flat out disappeared..... I/we have over 10 hrs over watching him through binos and spotters on four different occasions and he simply vanished. Late April 3013 was the last time I laid eyes on him. Hoping he might reappear, but not likely after all the time spent in and all around his zone.

COOSEFAN Report post Posted June 11, 2014 I'd have to go with Couezilla Recent official measurement is 143 4/8" as is broken and currently #9 SCI. That G2 was actually shattered when the bullet exited the shoulder and hit it. I didn't realize that until reviewing the video later and some of the pieces of that tine were found but not enough to piece it together. He was close to the 150" mark intact but I don't think he hit it, probably 148"ish….but who cares!!!! Look up "monster" in the dictionary and there should be a picture of Couezilla there!
willhunt4coues Report post Posted June 11, 2014 I love Coueszilla probably more than Sweets just because you can ACTUALLY measure him. Sweets is a dream. I know Ronnie has talked about sweets to you Jim because I used him as a resource for cameras. Ronnie set out about 15 cameras all in the area (it was more like 100 ) and still never got a single picture of Sweets. Till this day we always look for him. Hopefully one day I will stumble upon his head. I know that is still a dream of mine.

COOSEFAN Report post Posted June 14, 2014 We killed a 117" close to where i heard Sweets lived and it had similar characteristics as Sweets, the genetics are strong there for sure! The video shows some serious landmarks in the background and i haven't had time to sit down and edit it all out. Hopefully soon life will slow down a bit so i can get back into the swing of things here and get a video together.
