MULEPACKHUNTER Report post Posted June 9, 2014 Headed up this weekend near Overgarrd with the mules, Any good camp areas to get a trailer in and ride from? Was thinking of either near Black canyon lake or just driving down 300 rim road and finding something. We have a cabin up there but this will be my second time exploring, hard not to just hang at the cabin ounce your up there. Going to bring e caller and do some shed huntin

WHT_MTNMAN Report post Posted June 9, 2014 There has been some word (fairly reliable) that the forests will be closed on Thursday. I hope we get moisture soon.
Heat Report post Posted June 9, 2014 I've got some property right by the Forest Boundary in Heber, on Black Canyon Road. You can probably find a lot nicer spot down by the lake or on the 300 RD. PM if this is of any interest. Nick
Mocha1545 Report post Posted June 10, 2014 There's a couple of really good spots real close to Black Canyon lake. Plenty of room for the horse trailers and pretty flat. Lord I hope they are wrong about closing the forest! Going up there next weekend (I hope). Come on RAIN!

MULEPACKHUNTER Report post Posted June 10, 2014 Thanks guys, most likely we will hit FR300 and find something. I checked forest web site and no mention of closure, of course they may wait until the day we are leaving and not do it earlier in the week cuz that makes sense. Hope they are open but I guess we could just hit the cabin.

SWDesertRat Report post Posted June 10, 2014 Apache Sitgreaves National Forest just released a stage 3 closure. It does not extend to Black Canyon Lake, looks like it ends at FR139 and FR141 http://www.fs.usda.gov/Internet/FSE_DOCUMENTS/stelprd3803846.pdf

Edge Report post Posted June 12, 2014 Thanks, but got my own fart sack, limit 1. Maybe you and that fat mule can spoon, noodle or somethin' under the full moon? Trivia: Why are mules unable to reproduce (regardless of the romantic ambience)?
