Stuff handed down from parents/grandparents.......

Recommended Posts

Grandpas scabbard circa early 1900s. He shot a hole in it to keep it from filling with water. I'm trying to get my hands on the .06 that went with it. It hangs in my sons room.

My grandfather was a tool and die maker. He built fighter planes during WWII. After the war he moved to Flagstaff where he lived the rest of his life. He and a couple buddies got into reloading, but in the 40's it was not as easy to buy the equipment so he made most of his own stuff. I have homemade dies, presses, dribblers, trimmers, bullet pullers...the whole set up.

I have a few rifles and a shot gun from my grandpa. The best is probably the shot gun that my grandpa bought when he went on a mission to England in the 30's. He stayed over there for a month after he finished his mission and traveled Europe. He bought a Belgian made Brown Automatic that I have now. I shot it until about about 10 years ago. My parents house burned down when I was a kid so mostly only the rifles survived since they were in a safe.

When my Pops passed, i inherited his Chevy 1500 Z71, a few knives, a TON of kitchen stuff, his old bear skin rug (#2 or 3 in Az when he killed it), a 20ga double barrel shotgun, and 15x60 Zeiss binos that i still use today. (The dang things find deer like crazy, but never on the same mountain that I'm sitting on...)

My dad got a rem 788 22-250 for his 14th bday an gave it to me when I killed my first deer with it. We've also got a pre 64 270 of my grandpas that was left to us when he passed.
