White Mountains

I am excited to take my family up to the higher elevations to camp and fish for a week. I hope to explore and fish a few different lakes while we are up there. I have not fished much up north and wanted to see if anybody had recommendations for cool lakes to check out. Since I will be with my wife, four year old and three dogs, scenery and decent camp areas probably counts for as much as the actual fishing. Thanks.

Big lake or reservation lake. Beautiful country

But, the BEST day of fishing I have ever had up there was Cresent, as well as Sunrise.

I'd camp around Greens Peak and hit Carnero Lake while there is still a decent about of water in it. My friend did really well there last weekend. Artificial lures only and you will probably have to carry your bot a bit to the water. Yoy can also usually catch some nice fish at Sunrise if you don't mind paying the reservation fees.

I have had good days at all the lakes mentioned. Last really good outing with good sized fish was Carnero, great lake if you dont mind fishing in the weeds a lot.

 

Reservation is probably the prettiest of them all but a bit of a haul. If you want to catch something different you can find Grayling at Lee Valley, neat little fish and with the mild winter may be some larger ones in there this year. You can also hit the Black River and catch some Apache Trout.

Big Lake,Hawley, reservation lake, all great country. I like to fish big lake in the Morning, then head down to the river for some Apache trout.
