Caught a 12 lb Channel just below Roosevelt a while back. For flats, I'd head upstream of Rosie.

I think you guys might be mistaken. Just below Roosevelt is apache there is no river below rosie it goes lake to lake to lake. But the tonto and the salt both feed rosie

There is quite a bit of salt river below Roosevelt Lake before it opens up into Apache Lake. You can see some of it in the picture below.

Well then I was at the head of Apache lake. It was the first access below the dam. Spent the first half of the day picking up trash - it was really bad.

That's part of apache lake...

Most Topo maps would disagree. I believe any thing east of the "no skiing" signs is considered the river and not the lake.

I stand corrected I did mean the portion of the river above Rosevelt lake. Last night we only managed to catch a 10 lb. turtle in 5 hours of fishing. Headed back up their now to see if I can do better.

Update the fishing was pretty good north of the bridge for us only problem was we could not stop catching catfish under 12" we could of ventured farther up river but cliff banks and a long swim stopped us as I had my 5 year old son and my brother had his little ones. We even got to see a bighorn come drink from the river.Needless to say it was a great trip and I will be back soon.

Nice. The only time I've tried that the river was flowing pretty good and it was hard to swim. With the dry winter it's probably nice now. There's a back road out of Globe I've wanted to drive and try out that goes even more upstream. Maybe this summer...
