Home is the soldier,

Home from the battle.

Home is the cowboy,

Home from the saddle.

Home is the farmer,

Home from the field.

And the hunter, home from the hill.

You go on up ahead a ways dad, I'll catch up soon. Build a fire so I can find you.

I am sure he was a great man. Sorry for your loss Lark. I was able to dig up a pic of you and your pappy together on one of his elk hunts.

Deepest sympathy Lark. I read your fathers obituary in the local paper and thought about your past posts and the times you had written stories about him.

Great poem, very touching.

My deepest condolences Lark. I'm sure your dad is in them happy hunting grounds in the sky and looking down on you and feeling mighty proud of the man you have become. There's no doubt you've been missed on here Lark and in your own time I would like for you to share a few stories of the hunts you and dad shared together. Thoughts and prayers for family, friends, and for you Lark as you grieve the loss of your dad.
