Question for the Cope lovers

Recommended Posts

Tell your wife it's not personal during the 1st 2 weeks of trying to quit. You will be moodier and meaner than a girl with PMS. Good luck you can do it! Think of the money you will save too.

This is true! My husband has finally quit after chewing for 12 years. He was the moodiest, pissiest and grumpiest person I knew for about a month. but eventually it will get better! Good Luck to you!!

I'm working on quitting right now I have managed to cut back a few days ago and try and stick to pouches for now even though I hate them.

Nicotine patches really help. Don't chew gum, part of quitting is getting used to having nothing in your mouth but teeth & tongue. Patches provide nicotine to keep you from being a homicidal maniac. Once you get past the "something in the mouth" issue, stopping the patches is no big deal.

Asking for health advice about chewing on a hunting website sounds like the beginning of you might be a redneck joke.

dipped for over 40 years, quit once for 7 years then started archery hunting, just quit again hopefully for good, been real hard on my teeth and I like to eat steaks

Same here. 40 years of Copenhagen ruined my mouth. I have a mouthful of crowns now thanks to it. My dentist told me it is acidic and will eventually eat the enamel off of your teeth. He explained to me that is why I had 13 cavities in the teeth that had constant contact with it.

Had a horrible sore throat for about a month when I quit. I was told that was the nerve endings coming back to life that had been anesthetized by tobacco. Finally switched to herbal snuff to get free from it 7 years ago. I still miss it when guys like Slim open up a can and shove a big old dip in their mouth.

I been chewing on off for 34 years first time I quit was for about a year if your gonna quit then it all in your head you either want to or you don,t .

1 Obama that what made my brother quit cold turkey his health insurance was gonna cost him more cause he chewed/or smoked

2 move to Hawaii cope is $10 a can I know I quit for 10 days while in Kona last year

3 this works great everyday you don't chew put $5 bucks in the cookie jar my wife loves this one I put money in and I don,t here no grief when I buy something with chew money

Remember if you get thru first 7 days u got it made after that it all in your head nicotine only in your system 7 days from your last chew according to my doctor good luck

I smoked for 12 years and quit because of my kids and so I would not stink when I went hunting. To quit smoking i just picked up a can of chew. IT WAS the best alternative to smoking. I chew BIG dips (1/2 of a can) for only about 30 minutes if not less so. I go through about 2 1/2 cans a day 5 dips (still cheaper than smoking). I only spit even though I have heard it is worse to spit. Something about spitting your acids out which you need. But anyways I still have not received any cavities. My grandpa chewed for 60 years and never did get cancer and still had his original teeth when he passed so I believe it is in the genes. Everyone is different. I look at it this way I could get into my Jeep after work and be killed so tobacco did not kill me. If it gets to the point that i need to quit I will. I have quit everything else that was 100000 times worse so to me tobacco is nothing compared to all the other crap.

On another note they say Marijuana is the gateway drug I personally believe TOBACCO is the gate way drug. :) Just thought I would add that in there even though I have not smoked a jay in YEARS. :)
