Rim Cell Phone Tower Petition (please sign)

Recommended Posts

Some you hunt on or around the rim and know that the service is spotty at best. This is a petition that was created to help get a new tower close to the rim and help out anyone, from hunters to family members to the tourist enjoying our great state. We all know things go wrong out there and it could be miles that someone has to hike just to get that one bar to make a call. Any more signatures will help. Thanks

I would like a tower out there and signed it. Correct me if I'm wrong, I thought that (legally) petitions without a physical signature are useless. Is that not the case?

I never got a confirmation or anything saying I did it right. Done I hope! :)

I signed it. Part of me is a bit sad that it is getting harder and harder to escape to the wilds, however the safety aspect is undeniable.

I understand both of you. Any of you who know my family know my wife knows she spends atleast 2 days a week if not more in the woods. And she has everything she needs for her to be safe and have gotten her every electronic contraption known to man and I still get worried when I dont hear from her for a few hours. A tower would just be a little more peace of mind for our family members reguardless if we use it or not. Thanks guys

There is a cell site at Star Valley, Christopher Creek, Diamond Point, Forest Lakes and the Black Canyon Lake turnoff. Not all carriers are at each location though and never will be.

Good idea, however, placing a tower on USFS land will take years to accomplish. Gov't red tape, permits, land studies, animal studies, archeology studies...etc, etc, would drag that option out.

Your best bet is to find a private land owner nearby. They could then lease to the carriers.

An example what's involved:
