muskrat Report post Posted January 1, 2007 Folks - I'm the Vortex Field Staff guy for Arizona. I don't get any compensation for selling their binos, but I thought the Classifieds section might be the best place to post. Here is their new 2007 catalog http://www.vortexoptics.com/files/cat_vt2007hunting.pdf For the best side by side comparison, Ross Outdoors carries several lines of optics, including Vortex. az4life Report post Posted January 2, 2007 What is the pricing compared to others? Leupold, Minox Etc
muskrat Report post Posted January 2, 2007 jamaro - I got involved with them becasue of all the chat, especially on Archery Talk, I never heard a bad word. I'm not going to say they're AS good as Swaros, but for the money, I think it's better value (granted, coming from someone who can't afford Swaros lol). I just encourage people to get their hands and eyes on a pair, and decide for themselves. az4life - If you look at the catalog (being a .pdf it takes awhile to load) pricing starts around page 32. I think you'll find that generally they are less than the brands you mentioned.
gr8fuldoug Report post Posted January 4, 2007 muskrat... There has been alot of buzzz on the internet about these binos... Mostly from Eastcoast guys.... Are they really as good as the big three??? J- We became Vortex dealers in November. We had a meeting with Vortex and did some side by sides with their optics and some Nikons, Pentax's, Minox's and the Big Three. After evaluating their binoculars we thought it would be a worthwhile addition to the line of binoculars we carry. Vortex has a few offerings that are excellent and value wise they are a great glass. They have some interesting and well priced Spotting Scopes too. I was very impressed with their Viper Binocular. It is slightly more expensive than the Nikon Monarch ATB, however, it is so much better. As compared to the Big Three, not so much. However, it is not that type of a binocular or a fair comparison. If you are honest and a realist, then you would not compare a $50.00 bill to a $100.00 bill and expect them to be equal. The Vortex is an excellent glass but their best binocular is their Stokes series with an MAP of under $900.00. It is not fair to compare this to a $1500.00/$2000.00 Euro.
