Viper Report post Posted April 29, 2014 A friend has a turkey hunt this weekend in unit 1. He is pretty familiar with the area, just hasn't been up there in quite a while. He's wondering how the turkey numbers are in the burn areas. Not asking for your favorite hot spots, maybe just a couple general areas to get started. I had great success along the Black, on the unit 27 side, the spring before the fire. According to the fire map and google earth, that area looks pretty burned. desertmafia21 Report post Posted April 29, 2014 Just up there last weekend. Went 3 for 3 on good sized birds. Still lots of turkey in the burn areas. I would stay down lower towards the black river. Heard lots of birds down there at many different areas. 2 out of 3 came into calls too it was nice that they were responding and not shutting up when they left the roost 1 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
