Antler assassin Report post Posted April 26, 2014 We recently had a boulder roll down and destroy our toy hauler. We lost about 90 percent of our hunting equipment. I am going to be looking for new equipment. Which leads to me asking what hand held radios do you like? I want to try to get good distance as well as vibrate mode. Elkaddict Report post Posted April 26, 2014 Wow! Where did this happen? Don't mean to derail your topic but that is quite the picture!
Antler assassin Report post Posted April 26, 2014 I had the regular Motorolas befor didnt necessarily like them though. It happened in Rimrock az. Insurance doesn't cover any of the contents. Its frustrating to lose 20 years of equipment and have to start all over.

SWDesertRat Report post Posted April 26, 2014 Best wishes dealing with the insurance company. An Off/on site storage claim won't work? I use these from midland, not a bad price for the combo and kit. Midland has other kits without the extras for a little less in price. Has the vibrate feature for call and plenty of channels plus the weather channel which has come in handy more than a few times. http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B001WMFYH4/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?qid=1398527325&sr=8-1&pi=SY200_QL40 Range is decent, on high power I can usually get a few miles in the woods. Good luck in your search for new radios.

Viper Report post Posted April 26, 2014 Wow!! Sorry for the loss. If it were me, the radios would be pretty low on my list. I am a fan of Midland. Always performed well for me.
Antler assassin Report post Posted April 26, 2014 Wow!! Sorry for the loss. If it were me, the radios would be pretty low on my list. I am a fan of Midland. Always performed well for me. The radios are low on my list as well but with the cost of clean up that comes directly out of my pocket I can not afford to get some of the other stuff. And if I have to replace them in the future I want the opinion of you guys
