coueshunter84 Report post Posted December 28, 2006 I have found them to be a little louder then the other fixed heads I use (rocket ultimate steel 100's). And they have just enough more drag to start messing with my sight out past 50. CLoser then that and they shoot right with the ultimate steels and the mechs I use. TwoGuns Report post Posted January 5, 2007 Not too long ago I bought a hunting video of Bob Fromme hunting all over north america with his bow. It is called PERFORMANCE BOWHUNTING WITH BOB FROMME. he shoots the shuttle t lock and speaks very highly of it in the video. he kills 4 bulls, including a 400 inch bull in AZ with john mcclendon, 2 moose, and a polar bear as well. he must have a lot of confidence in the shuttles to go after polar bears with them. When he shoots the bull on the mcclendon hunt, he hits it very low, in fact barely hits it at all, and it still did not go far. Red Rabbit Report post Posted January 5, 2007 Last year, the guys at Bull Basin Archery in Flag did a penetration test into a new Yellow Jacket target with various broadheads. The Shuttle T penetrated the best. They fly like field points out of my bow. Sorry to say that I cannot give any on-game performance results as my kills lately have been with Nosler Accubonds. I havent hit anything with them yet, but a couple of my family have and had no problems with them at all. not to change the subject but how have the rocket ultimate steel work for you.I reason I ask is this year I shot a cow elk with one. when I found my arrow the broadhead was missing 2 blades I dont know if it was my fault or the broadhead. ndaniel Report post Posted January 9, 2007 my better half used them for her pig hunt this year...killed the pig but prior to the hunt they became damaged just by shooting the yellow jacket broadhead target, i was not impressed with their sharpness either....we were going to get her some wac'ems but they were out....i'm a slick trick guy myself and don't see myself changing anytime soon Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

And not picking, but should probably change the blades before hunting with any head shot into a target or anything else. The only heads I have found that do not dull after hitting a target ( to the point where they will still shave hair after 30 or so shots into a block) are the steel force titaniums. But I send them back to get sharpened just ebfore the seasons anyway. My wife shoots them out of her Bowtec stalker lite. And the Shuttle T-locs do a fine job on the javys. Got mine this year with one and did not have any problems with the head at all. She jumped the string the first shot and required a second arrow, the only shot I had the second time was as near a Texas heart shot as you can get. The T-loc took out the right rear hip socket 2 vertabre and a couple of ribs before exiting, and was intact when I picked it up. After washing the arrow all it required was one fletching and new blades, and its back in the quiver waiting on a whitetail. Ultramag, The secret to the Ultimate steels is a pair of pliers and a strong broadhead wrench. I had to stick a muley in Oregon several years ago 3 times, lost 2 blades off of the first head, all 3 off of the second, and 2 off of the third. When I got back home and told my story to a cousin of mine he showed me how its done. The heads have to be extremely tight in the shaft to hold that short little shank on the blades into the ferrel. Also might not hurt to loc-tite them in. After that I have had no problems, with the 4 animals I have taken with them since. Take a towel or a piece of leather and wrap it around the shaft before you apply the pliers. Oh and dont forget the little keeper washer, that will mess the whole thing up on you also. GreyGhost85 Report post Posted January 9, 2007 i shoot rocket ultimate steel 75's...couldnt be happier with accuracy, shoot exactly the same as field points....shot a javi and a coues with them, both times two blades were missing after the shot....both good shots, so the aniamals did'nt go very far, but the blades falling off has me a bit concerned..... ndaniel Report post Posted January 9, 2007 She was using the shuttle t-lock 100's, shot a less than 30 times too. I was just suprised to see a head damaged after being shot into that target. On one of the blades about mid-way there now is a chip in the shape of a "V", there was also a huge difference in the flight from her field points as well.....oh well that's how it goes though, I'm sure she'll find one she likes Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
