I got charged by a bear on Friday.

So, glad I was in my truck. LOL I was coming off the San Carlos Reservation on the 1800 Rd and as I came around a turn in the river bottom there was a portly brown phase bear working a pile of wood about 30 yards away.

It took one look at me and charged the truck covering about 20 feet then abruptly turned around and bounded away looking back about every 10 yards. I did not see any cubs and my diesel isn't exactly quite.

Beautiful bear though. Did not look like it had missed any meals in a long time. My estimate is it was about 300+ pounds and 5 years old. I felt under gunned toting a G22 with a 9mm barrel in it while I scouted for Turkeys this weekend. Probably going to put the 40 S&W barrel back in or just carry the PD329 when I go back up this week to hunt.

Sure was glad I was in the truck.

Sweet. Love that term "portly". What a beautiful bear that must have been! Should have photographed a track for size estimation.

Under gunned? You were in a big diesel truck... Push the gas pedal next time...

/>1911 my man.... only 8 or 9 shots, but those 200 gr .4515" bullets pack a punch!

Just don't shoot out the window of your big diesel truck with those 200gr bullets...
