undercover canned hunt documentary??

A year or so ago I was flipping through channels on a sleepless night and I came across a documentary about canned hunting in the US. It was a man and a woman going undercover as "hunting" clients to these ranches that were doing canned hunts under the radar. They experienced the ranchers tranquilizing some animals so clients could easily shoot them. Or theyd set the animal out on the spot infront of a box blind. They even went to various auctions where game and exotics were being sold for this disgusting industry.

 

Was wondering if anyone else here on the forum has seen this film and if they remember the name of it. I was trying to explain our idea of hunting to a co-worker (ethical, fair chase, public land, diy). And comparing it to what these sick people do on their ranches and pass it off as "hunting".

 

It seems like to the general population, the term "hunting" is very broad and very misunderstood. When we are discussing hunting we want to make sure we are talking about what WE do.

I have never seen the video. Elk farms are like that where you pay by the inch. There is a huge difference between a hunter, and a shooter. There are alot of things going on out there that give real hunters a bad reputation.

But diy is the only way to go.farms and set up hunts are not even close to hunting. Pathetic.

i did not see the show, but would like to, just for kicks.

 

the only problem i have with canned hunts is the greed it brings out in the sport. people are willing to pay to place themselves higher in the record books. and lie about it.

 

but other than that, there's no wrong way to kill and grill an animal.

 

stick it in a fence if that's your thing, i think i'll get mine the old fashioned way.

PS: For the record, I'm not in favor of canned 'hunts' and really don't believe they deserve to have the word "hunt" associated with them. My opinion.....

it is still called america and we are still alittle free to do what we want , i just don't like the name it gives to the "HONEST SPORTSMAN" to each his own!!
