Some of the best anglers Don't do catch & release

Recommended Posts

That's awesome. Let's see if anyone posts up how unethical it is of this bird to keep a fish under 12" lol

That first pic is super. If it's in AZ, you need to enter for inclusion in the annual AZG&F calendar for next year.

It looks like it caught a big waterdog, huh?

I've spent a lot of time flyfishing in Montana. Those birds are some of the best fisherman around. Saw many a trout plucked out of the rivers, and lakes.

I saw these pics and thought those birds could never choke down those crappie and then... I was at Saguaro Lake two weeks ago and saw on eat a small duck right next to the dock. I did not have a camera but did watch him carry it around by the neck with its feet flopping around. The duck was about half grown, so he size of a full grown Teal at least.

Those things are amazingly tough and aggressive!

Those things are MEAN! Was wading down the Trask river in Oregon and one of those devils was standing in the place where we wanted to get out. The closer I got the bigger he looked and he wasn't giving up his fishing spot. After a stand off for several minutes I decided to find another exit. My buddy was laughing at me and decided he could get out by the devil bird. He too decided there was a better exit downstream. Look at those yellow eyes. You can see the devil himself in them!

Wow, great pics! I second Tony on having you submit them to the AGFD calendar. A lot of people don't realize that Great Blue Herons will eat rodents. In addition to hunting wetlands, they are very successful in hunting fields where they can get mice and gophers.
