AmericanThunder Report post Posted April 8, 2014 I am gonna head up to Knoll lake the first weekend in May for a camping/ OTC turkey scouting trip. Anyone have any insight on this lake? I have never been there before.
rossislider Report post Posted April 8, 2014 I doubt there was much of a winter kill this year so it should be good for some holdovers this early on. I don't believe they will start stocking for another month or so. You might not catch large numbers but they should be good quality. My family and I love Knoll lake compared to the other rim lakes. Most people don't want to make the drive in so it gets a lot less crowded.

AmericanThunder Report post Posted April 8, 2014 Thanks guys. I will not have a boat so I will make sure to stay by the island.
ctafoya Report post Posted April 8, 2014 Best lake on the rim. A lot less pressure then the others.
rossislider Report post Posted April 8, 2014 I've fished it from the shore and in a boat. Always had better luck from the shore.
Guest akaspecials Report post Posted April 21, 2014 The bite at Knoll was pretty lousy this weekend. I threw cowbells, roostertails, corn, and nightcrawlers at them without a single bite. Headed over to Woods Canyon and quickly limited with two 14 inchers and the rest 11 inchers. As usual though, there weren't many people and it was peaceful at Knoll. Can't say the same for Woods Canyon... I know the OP doesn't have a boat, but for you other guys that do, the boat ramp is slightly out of water at Knoll. If you have a boat that can't easily be carried, you may want to consider another lake. My 14 ft jon was a beast to launch alone.
AmericanThunder Report post Posted May 8, 2014 Fishing was really slow last weekend. Threw all I had at them but to no avail. My buddy managed to land 1 trout, and I got a haul of crawdads but that's about it.
