Is 20 gauge 3" enough?

Viper, here you go! Now lets see what that savage can do.

Cool! Thanks! I will put this to use...maybe this weekend. I'll post the results.

Very nice, I'll post pics of my results as well! Good target

Here is a target at 45 yards, you can see where the wad (plastic insert) hit. The more expensive ammo did pattern ALOT tighter then my cheaper ammo. IMO it is well worth the extra money, but that's just me.

Vowell, your setup looks very effective. What gun setup and ammo did you use?

My results are not impressive. I tried Winchester #6 shot at 30 yrds. A few less shot in head at 40 yrds. I will try something different...Fed HW #7 or Magnum Blend.

Viper - what choke are you using?

It is a Savage model 24 with full choke and 3" chamber.

I'm using a HS extra full choke on a Benneli SBE II with #6 3 1/2" Winchester elite tungsten shot. Also I have Hi Viz sights, which IMO are the best.

I used some cheaper Kent 3 1/2 ammo, and it did not group as well.

Found 15 toms this morning!!! I'm super stoked!!!

You may want to double check the legality of that gun since it has a rifle built in. My dad used to have one in 222/20ga. It was the ultimate turkey gun in SD as rifles are legal. They hang up at 150, flip it over to 222 and smoke em. But in az that may not be a legal weapon.

I thought the same thing. I'll have to check to be sure. Maybe not an issue if I carry no .22's.....
