n2horns Report post Posted March 31, 2014 Anyone do stippling as a side hobby? I have a Glock that I would like to get done and I know it's not hard but was hoping some on here does it more than once and is good. I'm in QC.

4Falls Report post Posted April 1, 2014 Similar to checkering, adding texture to a polymer or plastic type handgun or rifle.
az_shooter Report post Posted April 1, 2014 Ok, it it just for design and making something "custom" or unique, or does it have another purpose?
n2horns Report post Posted April 1, 2014 Mostly stippling is to change the texture of the grip. Ie some guns grip are smooth and when shooting in the rain or muddy or sweaty hands your gun moves more. Stippling increases texture. Basically take a wood burner or soldering iron and melt texture or dimples into gun grip.
elpepe25 Report post Posted April 1, 2014 I've done it, it's not hard. If I could recommend something it would be to be patient, break it up over a couple of nights, and use the smallest tip on your soldering iron.
