azpackhorse Report post Posted December 18, 2006 Here is a photo of my buddy's wife's buck she shot last night. It was a tough weekend with lots of wind, we did glass up a few bucks that were very nice but just couldn't close the gap. She made an awesome 400 yard shot on this buck about a half hour before sunset. Congratulations Julie!
creed_az_88 Report post Posted December 18, 2006 Nice buck. I'm hoping to help my mom score on a hog. It takes a lot of patience taking someone who isn't capable of roughing it like you are used to doing. congrats to both of you. creed

CouesWhitetail Report post Posted December 18, 2006 Way to go Julie!! Always nice to see another lady hunter! Seems like this year has been a good one for the ladies. I have posted at least hunt stories by successful lady hunters in the hunt story section this year. Amanda

azpackhorse Report post Posted December 18, 2006 She was shooting a .300 win mag. It's kinda funny because she started out with a Browning BAR in .243 but on Saturday we noticed that the scope had come loose so she had to go to the Remington SPS .300 win mag, which I had nicknamed the "wife beater". That nickname derived from Julie shooting the .300 win mag at the range a week earlier but just like I had promised her, she did not feel the recoil when she shot her buck.
