check this out. it's in the republic today.

http://www.azcentral.com/arizonarepublic/l...moredeer19.html

read what it says and you'll see what i'm saying about everything being politically driven. pretty easy to see what's going on here. no coyotes and lions, population goes up. but, we have to make sure we don't offend anyone with scientific fact. i ain't kiddin' guys, this what we're up against. politics, not science.

Lark,

I just read it, the numbers speak for themselves.

" With 62 deer thriving in the pen, and only about four deer surviving in similar areas and under similar conditions outside the pen"

Then this wacko from the sierra phub says this

"If Game and Fish winds up saying we should kill more coyotes and mountain lions, I'm not sure where that would take us" This retard wants to neuter or spay coyotes or lions instead of "shooting" them.

Things are getting out of control. Thanks for posting the article, I would of never seen it.

Andy

you can neuter and spay em easier after they're dead. you guys ever hear of ted riggs? ol' gov't trapper on the strip for years. if he's still alive he's 100 years old. anyway, he talked at a mule deer expo deal in salt lake once. in his talk he mentioned that he'd caught several lions that year in his coyote traps. after the little speech he was talking to a good friend of mine that knew him well and some dude walked up and asked ted, real concerned like, what he did with the lions he caught. ted said that he took his traps off and turned em loose. as the dude walked away he told my friend under his breath "right after i shot em in the head". predator control is a necessary thing. right now, next to uso and weak leaders maybe, it's the biggest problem we have in Az. too many coyotes and lions. period. this article really shows what the state is up against. why bother gathering data if you aren't going to use it because of political fears? predator control doesn't mean predator elimination. antis always turn hunting into a wanton desire to rid the country of wildlife, when exactly the opposite is true. it's real simple, if it weren't for hunters and their desire to hunt, there wouldn't be any game. the game and fish does a real poor job portaying this and backs down from any confrontation. even when they are dead center right and have scientific data to back em up.

Two years ago while scouting in 32 I saw a band of does and fawns. One of the fawns was way behind the rest because he had a large part of its hind quarter was bleeding and missing for that matter. The only reason I got sad was because that fawn was my buck that I could have hunted a few years down the road.

We have the answer.......we can legally hunt coyotes withOUT A LIMIT! I also decided then to try and put my lion tag to actual use in stead of just a chance in counter with a cat. Besides my "special tag soup" does not need any more help as it is. We should take our rifles on our scouting trip, camping trip, etc. Perhaps even organize a coyote hunt/deer conservation trip. Lets do this before THEY take this away from us legally.
