Arrowsniper Report post Posted June 22, 2014 I'm a little concerned that the reports are showing nothing for Bluefin or albacore. That's not the norm for this time of year! Looks like some yellowtail showing on 2 days.

Havasuhunter Report post Posted July 28, 2014 I'm heading out on Aug 1st on the El Capitan with several guys. It's a 2 day trip. I'm bringing 20,30, and 40lb outfits for everyone. I've got some rookies, hopefully it will be good. With a little practice you can cast a 6" sardine fairly well, even on 40. Just hope I can teach the new guys how so we are not re-spooling reels the whole trip. :-) I'll report back after the trip.

Havasuhunter Report post Posted July 28, 2014 There are times you need your bait far from the boat though. Whether you cast or drop it over the tail, a good hot bait that swims away from the boat is key. I've heard the bait has been pretty beat up lately, I'm sure hoping for some healthy dines. Two eyes and a wiggle chovies or half dead sardines definitely makes it tougher.
Havasuhunter Report post Posted July 28, 2014 Drop it over the rail that is, not over the tail, though that may work as well?
