Devil Diver Down Report post Posted March 24, 2014 Perfect elk gun! This rifle is brand new - never had a round through it. Won this at the AZ Elk Society Banquet and have too many rifles, not enough bows and my wife lost her job a couple weeks back so I'd rather have the cash - $525. NO TRADES!!! Sorry, but no box with it. I've heard great things about these rifles being tack drivers from a bunch of people. Here's what Weatherby says about it: * Sub-MOA Accuracy Guaranteed * Match-quality two stage trigger * 3 position safety * Matte Bead Blast finished (blued) Shoot me a pm if interested. I'm in the west Chandler area. First one with the money in my hands gets the rifle. Pix didn't turn out great but the rifle will. $550 + sales tax @ cabelas: http://www.cabelas.com/product/Weatherby-Vanguard-Series-Rifle/1370484.uts

Devil Diver Down Report post Posted March 26, 2014 It seems like everyone on this board but me drew an elk tag. I'm sure someone needs a solid elk rifle for this fall.

Coues 'n' Sheep Report post Posted March 27, 2014 I will trade you the same exact gun in 7mm Rem NIB....
Devil Diver Down Report post Posted March 27, 2014 Thanks, Rat! Much appreciated. I figured someone would jump on this rifle faster than a rat on a cheeto. Coues 'n' Sheep, thanks for the offer and I'd consider it but leaning toward not growing my rifle collection any right now - guns won't all fit in the cabinet as it is. My youngest wants to shoot a bow and now my oldest is leaning that direction, too. I've already got a 7mm from my dad, though I prefer my two 30.06's. If I get another rifle it probably won't be until after I fund at least one more bow and it will likely be a 7mm-08, which is what I was hoping to win at the banquet.

Arrowsniper Report post Posted March 30, 2014 Weatherby is made in Japan?
452b264 Report post Posted March 30, 2014 Yes the Vanguard is made in Japan, but the new ones are tack drivers, my old one also shot well below MOA, a good friend had a REM. 700 300 WBY. and the bolt cracked, and this is a common problem with them in that Caliber, a Google search will show you. I shot my old Vanguard more than he shot that rem, and not a single problem. REM has nothing on these rifles.

Devil Diver Down Report post Posted April 3, 2014 Price drop to $500. New, never a single round fired and about $100 less than you'd pay at the shop. The rifle goes back to original price on Gun Broker next week if not sold.
