deserthntr Report post Posted March 21, 2014 so ive been looking into getting a new pack and have been looking real hard at the kuiu packs... but i cant really seem to find a major difference between to icon and the ultras. anyone know the major differences? SwarovskiCoues Report post Posted March 21, 2014 icon ultras are suppose to be rated higher in packing abilites like it can withstand up to 250lbs. where as the Icon is about 150....also the Icon series is very organized and designed with many pockets and straps where as the Ultra is a basic lightweight bag. im also looking at both which is why i know this haha. watch the videos on there youtube channel it helps alot!!!! rcdinaz Report post Posted March 21, 2014 You can use different size packs on the icon frame as well. The icon has more pockets and the ultra is the ultra-lightweight version so it has less material in the over all build. Based on the videos and tests I don't believe there is much difference in the weight you can vary with either. I have an icon one of the first ones delivered as part of their inner circle program. It is an awesome pack but I have only used it twice. My go to is still he eberlestock because of the scabbard. Kuiu has a rifle and bow carrying solution now as well. All of the Kuiu stuff has been extremely well made and I like everything about the company and the owners business model. 1 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
