couesdeerhntr Report post Posted March 19, 2014 I have been wanting to hunt bear for some time now but i have never really known where to start. Pretty much the only game plan i would have is to glass the canyons and try and pick one up.any other advice as to what they are looking for to eat and areas to concentrate on during morning or evening would really help. And would the higher or lower elevation bears be more active this time of year? Or should i just wAit and hunt the bears in the pears? Thanks for the info! Rombo Report post Posted March 19, 2014 Your best odds are waiting for the fall hunts in August and early October when the bears feeding patterns are more predictable. If hunting the spring OTC hunts, the later in the hunt the better and the higher the better. Calling is an option but much more effective in the fall after the fawn drop. Best of luck!
