How long?

In the middle of all this anxiety about the draw, I thought I might try and ease the tension. How long did it take you to arrow your first bull? Not including years that you didn't draw, unless you went and hunted out of state. I have only drawn 1 elk tag and it was a late rifle bull in 6A. Didn't get anything, except a lesson in elk, haha. This will be my 3rd year applying for the draw and my first going for an early archery bull hunt. I am on pins and needles to say the least, haha. So, let's hear it! Feel free to give a little more detail on your hunt as well (unit, yards, etc..).

Have only drawn 1 elk tag for bull and that was a late archery tag in 6A. Only saw a few cows.

I'm 3 for 3 on archery bulls! I have yet to arrow a big one though! 1st bull was a 6x2, 2nd and 3rd were 4 points.

Husband and I got the 5A late bull hunt last year, saw plenty of nice bulls but somehow could not get a shot

maybe this year will be the year!

Only got drawn once and that was my 2nd choice unit in 3b

It took me till the last day to decide to shoot a bull......not for a lack of sightings because I was passing anything under the 350" mark and only had a few opportunities on anything bigger...though I saw them.

I shot the one in my avatar on the very last day after passing 2 others and one was a tempting 340" but I knew bigger ones were out there.

Now I'm just a point builder at large.

I have a 11yr old son who I hope can pull a tag....actually I can live the hunt through him so all is well and we'll have memories that neither will ever forget.

I have had 6 elk tags in 12 years. 1 early archery bull, 2 late rifle bull, 1 archery cow, 1 muzzleloader cow, 1 late archery bull. All in az. Only time i didnt get one was archery cow.

Im still trying to draw my first archery tag. Only got 3 elk tags (1 cow tag and 2 late bull tags) in like 13 years.

Killed my first cow at 10 and a cow and 4 bulls since then in 16 years. First archery bull was a rag horn in 2010. Tag soup on two other bull tags.

Killed my first bull with a bow in 2003 drew a late archery bull in 2010. Hit a bull I couldn't find first day and looked for 3 days then kicked back at camp for 12 days and headed home now just waiting for another tag

2 archery bulls 5x5 and 6x6 & 6 archery cows hopefully we get to do it again this year.

10 archery bull tags in arizona since started applying in 1988. 3 archery bull tags in new mexico. About 75 percent kill, 4 toads and a handful of 290- 340 bulls.

13 years to draw a general bull tag rifle with success 5x5 on day seven. Since I have, or my two boys have been drawn for 8 years in a row. The only tags I have not drawn are archery tags in the last 2 years. I'm trying rifle this year because I think I have more luck.
