rcdinaz Report post Posted March 18, 2014 My hunting rig is an Avalanche with a 6" lift that is in great shape other than the paint which has an abundance of AZ pinstripe. I did not really want to have it painted again since it will just end up with more scratches. Anyone have their truck wrapped, rhino lined, or painted with the "dip" stuff? Not sure what holds up the best or which option is the best bang for the buck. Any adivce or feedback is appreciated. Thanks!
reganranch Report post Posted March 18, 2014 Get it Line-X'd its the best quality liner.
muledeerarea33? Report post Posted March 18, 2014 LIne X is good stuff but if you did your whole truck in it it'd add some serious weight!! I'm kinda wondering how a wrap would hold up to scratches and tree limb debris as well?
Lucafu1 Report post Posted March 18, 2014 i welded in a new quarter panel on my bronco and didnt want to pant it so i rolled the bottom half of it with herculiner. it holds up really good. just have to paint it with spray cans every year or two cause it will fade alittle. but its not needed. if you do it right it will last. kd300wsm Report post Posted March 18, 2014 Did my 86 Chevy with in it you can't scratch it. Shoveling sand out of the back don't even scratch it . They have about 30 colors you can choose from. You can have it sprayed fine mine has 1/8 in bubbles in it and I love it
muledeerarea33? Report post Posted March 18, 2014 I think a company out of phoenix does our parts truck wrap for around $2000, but our parts trucks never leave the pavement.
deserthntr Report post Posted March 18, 2014 i would think about putting plastidip on it, and i believe they have a clear coat, but if im wrong im sure they will have any other color to match your truck. my detailer suggested that so i quit bringing my truck to him with a ton of pin stripes, he claims it will take all the scratches and then you can peel it off and have clean scratch free paint, but i havent tried it myself yet since the seasons that i would be scratching my truck up are over till fall... Looks intersting like garage floor coating.
rcdinaz Report post Posted March 19, 2014 Okay I am going to have to start checking prices on all of this. $2K for a wrap is not that bad if it lasts 10 years. I saw a truck a few weeks ago painted bright green plasti-dip but the only website I checked seemed pretty expensive. Anyone have recommendations on where to call for any of these services let me know.
