Treestandman - Accident!

Recommended Posts

MAny many people a re injured very badly evry year in treestands. I know a guy that is the owner of classy closets. His treestand broke and he fell right on his neck and shoulders breaking his back in more than one spot. He hit the ground so hard his toenails popped out of his toes. He drug him self back to his jeep and then drove himself to the hospital.

Get better soon Mike and if you need anything let me know I am just down the road on lindsay from you.

I think it was Bowsniper that fell from a stand 1-2 years ago. He sure took a monster buck with his bow also.

First get better then worry about hunting. This could be the only season you might miss, but God willing there will be many, many more.

Rest.

Relax.

Get better.

Yeah, I had a fall in August last year. I was leaning back on a lineman "saftey" harness and it disengaged. I fell 25 feet and dislocated and busted up my wrist. I was very lucky that was all.

Mike, you are in my prayers. The injury is bad enough, but I know how frustrating it is to have to sit out the season.

I talked to Mikes uncle Ken today and he said he has not been to see him yet because mike does not want to see anyone. I guess they can not give him Pain meds right now and he is in lots of pain and not a very hapy hunter at this point and time.

"I guess it is a more common occurence than what you think."

It is very common all across the USA. I had a friend break his neck and die about 20 years ago in Florida. Two years ago, two friends were seriously injured in Pennsylvania when a commercial stand collapsed as one of them was climbing it. He fell on the other guy, who was steadying the thing. The climber broke a leg, the stand holder suffered a broken back and still has pain. Just last year, someone I'd met on a deer hunt in Michigan fell off his stand in Texas and broke an arm while trying to strap on his harness.

I hope Mike has a speedy and complete recovery, without complications.
