Anyone ever beat a photo radar ticket? I went down today to get a continuance to figure out if I'm gonna fight or go to school.

I've beat a few of them by just throwing them in the trash. They can't prove you ever got it unless they serve you. I've yet To be served for a photo radar ticket.

Should have trashed it...If you look up the ticket on line that's also as good as being served as you have to enter the citation number with personal info which proves you got it.

I would just pay the ticket if you already asked for a continuance. My DPS friend said those tickets are not a moving violation ticket so it doesnt go against your insurance. If thats true there is no reason to waste a traffic school class on it.

I got served. I was told by the courts that I can get hit with 2 to 3 points.

I got a photo radar ticket from City of Scottsdale and promptly threw it in the trash can. A month later I got another copy of the ticket in the mail, and that said they would be attempting to serve me. Well for the next 2 months I laid low and avoided being served. They only have 90 days to serve you. Well on the 85th day when I came home from work, there was a notice from the court taped to my front window saying I had been served. The notice said that a judge had allowed "alternative service" for my case. "Alternative Service" means that they don't have to hand it to you in person, they can simply tape it to your front door or window, and the court considers you served. I didn't believe it, because they couldn't prove I received it. Well 30 days later, I received a letter from DMV saying my drivers license and my license plate on my car had been suspended. What a nightmare! I had to end up paying the ticket, the fee for serving me, a fee to un suspend my license, and a fee to un suspend my license plate...

And I thought that Scottsdale wouldn't come to Patagonia, AZ to chase me down...

I was served by Show Low Municipal on the 85th day or so without being home because the process server came back to back days, one day there was a package from Amazon with my name on it at the door and the next day it wasn't.

When I called to say wtf the lady had me pinned. "Well on this day the said vehicle was parked outside of the residence and on this day a package from Amazon LLC.." blah blah - she had dates and times and more than any one occurence.

Ultimately I received notice from the DMV that my was license was suspended and then I had to pay to get it reinstated and the court process server fee's etc.

Long story short, I don't know if it's as easy to beat them as it used to be.. I beat two before that, one from not getting served and one because my picture wasn't clear. Third time's a charm they say. I'd consider paying up before you get hit with more crap.

it's been done a few times in star valley.

last i read where someone won, they argued that the city prosecutor could not also be a witness against you, as this was a conflict of interest.

court ruled that was true, and threw it out.

i'm not sure what or if the city has changed on that, but now the prosecutor cannot be a witness against you.

I thought those cameras in Star Valley were inoperative. Not the case?

My mom got a ticket from one in star valley last year. She lives in NM so she didn't try to fight it. She's a liberal anyway so I feel she deserved it.

So I'm reading my "ticket" and it says to mail payment to Violation processing po box 22091 tempe az. That is the po box for American trafic solutions. Mesa paid them for the cameras and pay for maintenance. Ticketing for profit not public safety. They are not sworn officers so how can they issue a fine through the court? No sworn officer was present at the time of said offence. I'll be fighting this.
