Coach Report post Posted March 17, 2014 A co-worker last week told me he had several deer in his back yard - lots of does and one really big buck. He's in the greater Phx-metro area. I can only assume these are muleys since he's not a hunter, but his description was 8 does and one really big buck. I would have assumed that all the rutting activity was done weeks ago, and this buck should have gone off by himself. Any thoughts on this?

308Nut Report post Posted March 18, 2014 There is a smaller second rut for lack of a better term. When doe deer are not bred, they go back into heat roughly 28-30 days later. Younger females can season a bit later. It is very possible for breeding to happen in March.
