Seldom Drawn Report post Posted March 15, 2014 Do you have the old 15'S, I can get a pair of new ones for $2400 I just don't think they are worth it, I would like to know what you think the difference between the two is.
Couestracker Report post Posted March 15, 2014 I've had the 10x42 EL's for a long time, then got the 15 X 56's SLC....I thought I wasted my money, thought I could find anything with the 10's, setting up the 15's on a tripod was a bunch of wasted work, cumbersome, etc. This last javelina hunt I wasn't finding any, took out/setup my 15's and found a herd. Knowing where they were, I tried to see them with my 10's....and couldn't! Not trying to hijack the thread...just saying what a difference the 15's make, also wanting to know how much better the HD's are than the SLC's.
shanehamblin Report post Posted March 15, 2014 I don't feel like your losing anything with the non HDS. I have the new 10x42 SLC hds and I can tell you that the HD glass is extremely bright and crisp edge to edge. I also have the 15x56 SLC non HDS which I love. I think what we all keep forgetting is how awesome the "old" swaro glass still is. Like I mentioned the HD glass is amazing and overall better but don't change what isn't broken you know.. just my opinion
SwarovskiCoues Report post Posted March 15, 2014 honestly there is a big difference..i do have both models and compared both. the new ones are 6oz lighter, magnesium housing, bigger pupil objective lens, and about an inch shorter. the amount of light the bring in compared to the older slcs is really insane!! i highly recommend you check them out! i cant tell a difference between my ELs an new slcs!!
