Where to camp??

Recommended Posts

Looking to get out of town (tucson) next weekend and wanting to head north. I usually camp around willow springs and woods canyon lake but they are closed until May! I would like to get up in the trees preferably by a lake! Anyone know of any good campgrounds? I will be tent camping

fool hollow lake state park and campground is open and the bass and channel cats are full speed. and you can check on this-azgfd usually dump a bunch of huge 'incentive' trout over 16" in fool hollow during the first two weeks of march....

forest is open and so is the peninsula road at willow springs. you can camp on larsen ridge or off the young rd.

Heck, we went up reddington last weekend just to get out for awhile. Was supposed to be a two nighter calling all day event! Turned out to be a two night drinking and cooking fest!! Man did we have fun! Didn't have to go far from home but it was nice just to camp. I hadn't been out since January and needed a break. Point to my rambling.... Anywhere you go (other than home) will be fun.

Couldn't agree more I just love to camp, but gotta make the lady happy and she "wants the trees close a lake". At least I'm glad she likes to fish and camp!

Woods Canyon is open I believe. My cousin's son camped there last weekend.

That would be awesome, will have to give a call tomorrow to find out!

I just called the Ranger office in Heber and was told it is still closed.
