Building an AR 15

Recommended Posts

Now I have never been a big fan of the tactical weapons but I have been wanting to build a AR 15 recently to predator hunt with. Is this a good weapon of choice for predator hunting? Also I have no clue where to start on how to build one. Any and all advice appreciated! And yes I want to build one not buy one already put together, thank you

I build one for predator hunting. I mounted an eotech 5.12 on it. Its light no recoil huge field of view quick follow up shots.I think its the perfect predator weapon. Because I use no magnification it eliminated the need to have a shotgunner at every stand. But I can still aim dead on out to 250y. So easy even a child can use it.

Building is easy. Figuring out what you want is tricky. For hunting 18 to 20 inch barrel .223 wylde still gives good accuracy and still shoots 5.56 and 223. Go standard forend ie straight tube skip all the 500 rail options. Cmmg makes a good lower parts kit. I like upper and lower to match. Stick with forged or billet not the plastic stuff. All are basically made by a few companies then companies put there logo on them. Buy what you like. Local is quentin defense. Pof and sun devil. You tube is your friend..
