mountain lion

Recommended Posts

Went scouting up the mountain in the pine trees today. We were in an area that had a lot of rubs last year. We walked that place over and over and found not one rub. Well we moved over 2-300 yards away in a steap drainage to look in that area. We found two great rubs and as we were looking more, my partner pointed out a-lot of hair under a bush. we found fresh blood and chewed up bones from the face. There were three piles of pine needles, and a foot from that, under the needles were small pieces of intestines. we combed the area looking for the carcas but found nothing. it looked like a fawn because the jaw was really small. No ribs, no hips, no legs. we found the two rubs about 35 yards away from the kill. do you guys think the lion being in the area would keep the deer out????? by the way there was a lot of lion tracks in the area. We finally pulled out the trail camera and placed it in the area. hopefully we'll get some pics

If you guys were unable to find the dead deer and seen lots of lion tracks around the kill site than I would say lion kill  The rest of the deer prolly aint far away from the kill site ;) Remember lions drag there dinner off into the brush eat and then cover it up and then the next day they eat and drag it off and cover it up again utill its gone ;)
