If you read their website they say they close access from mid-Dec to Aug, then open again for big game seasons. from AGFD: "The Boquillas Ranch will be open again for the 2014 fall season. Ranch personnel are meeting next week to review the Ranch Rules – we don’t anticipate any major changes. They are aware that the elk and antelope draw results will be available in the near future and intend to post any updated rules quickly." Most people think it is but is not. Here is some info on STL. But the lease agreement was to run cattle, mine, ect. ect. When you decide to run multiple business's. I think normal people would say whoa partner the agreement was to operate one business. CouesWhitetail Report post Posted February 28, 2014 Willie, No, I am just saying it's the same as last year. This was all debated last year before it changed to the current policy. This agreement was hammered out between the AGFD, the cattle company and the Navajo nation, who own the majority of the land. At that time the ranch manager provided all their financial info and costs to the AGFD in order to show the costs involved in maintaining access for hunters. This fee was an attempt to recoup some of those costs. You can do a google search for more info or just call AGFD and the Boquillas to learn more. Guest wdenike Report post Posted February 28, 2014 OH NOOOO!!! Some one is negotiating using our wallets again. I am not a CPA, but I'd be willing to bet that road maintenance has ben deducted already some place. I'm wondering what other cost are incurred by allowing hunters to hunt. Does anyone that is a CPA have any idea per acre what would be allowable to be deducted for loss of feed caused by wild life, and off road travel. Bet it is being deducted somewhere, and I'll bet it's a lot. I sure am glad some one is looking out for our interest again. So that some of these expenses can possibly get paid for twice by the same people. Gotta love it, it's true ya just can't make this stuff up.
