Yeah ... it will eat them up ... that is for sure. 6.5-06 AI will be my choice in that caliber ... too bad I've got to fire form the brass (I think?????).

Not sure why people think fireforming is such a chore. Fire form while doing barrel break in and you kill two birds with one stone. I generally break in for 50 rounds so when im done I have 50 cases ready to go and if I need more I wait until its time to clean it then fire form a few more to foul in the barrel. Works out pretty good.

The 6.5-06 ackley is a great cartridge I have one and love it. I am getting 3180 out of mine with a 140 berger and only have to use 59 grains of powder to do it. The 26 Nosler can beat it im sure but not by much and it will have to burn quite a bit more powder to do it. There are quite a few 6.5s available that meet or exceed the 26 Nosler performance but dont have the backing of a major company that will allow joe smo to buy factory ammo. For those of us who reload and enjoy working with wildcat chamberings the 26 isnt all that exciting. But the guy that goes to the store looking for the best hot rod on the shelf the 26 looks pretty dang good.
